My original intent when assembling this post was to collect some of my favourite shameful pleasures. You'll certainly find signs of that — as in the opening track. This mix is a conscious switch from some of the darkness of my recent posts. There's no theme here deeper than a collection of songs I can listen to over and over. There's some new stuff in here, but many of the tracks are of their time, and they certainly date me. No matter. Some of these songs have stories, but every track in this mix thrills me to listen. You may experience that frisson to be more of a shudder, but I hope you find enough to enjoy to make it worth your while. I've got plenty of ideas for upcoming posts, but work and other engagements will demand an increasing commitment of my time and energy in the upcoming month, so my accompanying posts will be necessarily short. I hope that's okay. After all, this blog is about the music first.
